In April 2021 Daniel van Strien, a digital curator on the British Library's 'Living with Machines' project, delivered a workshop introducing computer vision to digital humanities researchers.
The workshop provided:
- An introduction to deep learning based computer vision methods or humanities research.
- An overview of the steps involved in training a deep learning model.
- Discussion of some of the specific considerations around using deep learning/computer vision for humanities research.
- Help deciding whether deep learning might be a useful tool for you.
Daniel's presentation from the session can be seen in the three videos below.
