The final RDM event of the 20/21 academic year featured Sarah Jones, EOSC Engagement Manager at GÉANT, speaking about The Future of FAIR.

FAIR and the future – What it means for you
This talk introduced the FAIR principles, commented on their adoption by funders and organisations worldwide, and offered some reflections on where things should go next. Concerns addressed include the governance of the FAIR principles, how they apply to different research communities and their importance within EOSC. The relevance of FAIR for the library community and how they can support implementation of the principles through data management and open science services will also be covered.

Sarah Jones
Sarah Jones is EOSC Engagement Manager at GÉANT, where she works with NRENs on supporting Open Science. She is an information professional with over a decade working in research data services in the higher education sector. At the Digital Curation Centre she led the DMPonline service and worked on consultancy and training. Sarah was rapporteur on the European Commission’s FAIR Data Expert Group and independent expert on the EOSC Executive Board, chairing the FAIR Working Group. She now sits on the EOSC Association Board of Directors.
