Academic Domains - Optical imaging; Image analysis
Alistair Curd is a post-doctoral research fellow; working on the development and support of super-resolution microscopy in the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Leeds. He works on control code for optical hardware systems and developed software for image data analysis. He is familiar with Python and R; and has also used C; Matlab and many macro and other proprietary languages as necessary.
Alistair works on the analysis of several applications of this microscope technology; including pattern recognition among high-precision localisations of single biological molecules; which allows the exploration of ordered complexes in biology at the 10-100 nm length scale. He also develops data processing and hardware control methods for others to use.
