This workshop will bring together the digital humanities research community across the N8 Universities. It is open to all researchers who are involved in digital humanities, and who wish to find out more about N8 CIR Digital Humanities theme and meet like-minded researchers across the North of England.
Theme: Digital Humanities in the North: Issues, Insights, and Interventions
Digital technologies have found fertile ground in the humanities departments located at northern universities. This N8 Community Day presents an excellent opportunity for researchers in the area to take stock of the issues that are vividly debated in digital humanities and reflect on the insights and interventions offered by local researchers. In the true spirit of interdisciplinarity championed by digital humanities, we invite scholars of literature, language, history, music, media, communication, information and computer science to share their work and exchange ideas with others who embrace digital tools to reflect on humanistic questions about culture, society and identity.
The day will involve keynote talks, research project presentations, a poster session, a show-and-tell lunch, and a roundtable discussion. We hope this event will grant opportunities for researchers to meet, learn from each other, and perhaps collaborate.
