N8 CIR Summer Internships 2026

As part of ongoing N8 funding for the N8 CIR, we have provided four 8-week undergraduate internships at each N8 partnership university which run during the summer vacation. These projects are aimed at penultimate- or final-year undergraduate students and are designed to introduce them to a research environment, teach them key skills and inspire them to consider digital Research Technical Professional (dRTP) careers.

The benefits of being part of the programme

Interns will have the chance to:

  • Enhance their coding and technical skills through practical applications
  • Gain firsthand experience of research methodologies and digital research professions.
  • Collaborate with leading academics and professionals.
  • Contribute to impactful projects with real-world applications.
  • Improve their presentation skills and discuss their projects with researchers from a variety of fields

Projects for 2026

The projects are outlined below and separate university pages will provide information about the student and their expectations before starting their research. These will be available before the end of June 2026.
