This day of interactive workshops explores how fundamental principles from user-centric design, paired with systems thinking and self-leadership, can not only transform how we deliver services but also help you cut through complexity to focus on what truly matters. Through a blend of expert talks and group-based activities, you'll discover how to approach challenges from your users' perspectives, use systems thinking to simplify rather than complicate your work, and develop the leadership skills needed to create clarity for yourself and others.
Led by University of Leeds staff and industry experts in user-centric service design and software delivery, the day will ground these concepts in real-world examples while helping you identify opportunities within your own work context. You'll explore what leadership means in practice for RSEs and how the themes of user-centric design and systems thinking can enhance both individual effectiveness and team impact.
