Ship Shape and Bristol Fashion: Lessons learnt through 10 years of sensitive data release

This paper presents lessons learned from ten years of supporting sensitive data sharing at the University of Bristol. It will set out our definition of sensitive data, detail deposit checking for supporting data, including work on consistently wording consent, working with legacy data, setting up our Disclosure Risk Service, and the function of Bristol's Data Access Committee (DAC) - established in accordance with the recommendations of the EAGDA. We also discuss challenges in the research process and administration of this service, along with practical considerations for integrating such a model at other institutions.
