NeuroBatch: Harmonising data from an international neuroscience project
Intern: Isaac Tugwell
Degree course: Psychology
LinkedIn

I have always loved science, especially Biology. When I first learned about neuroscience and behaviour at GCSE, I was enthralled, and the prospect of learning more about this resulted in me pursuing Psychology at A-level and, in turn, at a degree level. As I have gotten older, being able to talk with people and help them through struggles has felt particularly rewarding and being able to research and work to further benefit people is a key goal of mine. Ultimately, my goal is to progress onto the Clinical Psychology PHD and work in the NHS, expanding my knowledge and making a difference for as many people as I can

Why did you apply for this internship?
I had been volunteering on a project doing data collection when it was brought up to me. The opportunity to partake in research at a deeper level than I had already seemed like an invaluable experience to me. The prospect of conducting my own research and learning more about the academic process was incredibly exciting to me.

What do you hope to gain in completing this project?
I hope to gain valuable experience in the research process, develop various skills such as teamwork and time management, and most of all, produce a project that I am proud of.
