Research and analysis of Staphylococcus aureus cell shape and volume changes during the cell cycle

Project Overview

This project involved developing a tool to segment, classify, and analyse staphylococcus aureus cells.

What are the key results of your project?

  • bug fixes and code style for the tool
  • minor new features (bulk analysis, channel merging, image downscaling)
  • significant model improvements for segmentation

A YouTube presentation of this work will be available in the coming month.

How do you feel you have benefitted from completing this internship?

I've learned a lot about working in the RSE field, which I will definitely pursue as a potential career path. I've developed my skills as a software engineer, and learned a lot about machine learning tools and techniques.
