I chose to study Computer Science because I’ve always been a tinkerer at heart, and CS gave me a way to explore the full realm of what’s possible with technology. What excites me most about the field is that learning and building happen simultaneously - you don’t just study concepts, you apply them. That process instills confidence that you can create tools to solve real-world problems of all kinds. Beyond core CS, I’m especially interested in interdisciplinary areas like digital humanities, GIS, and machine learning, where computation intersects with other domains.

Why did you apply for this internship?
I applied for this internship largely because of the enjoyment I found in my previous digital humanities work with the N8, and because I’m especially drawn to projects that operate at the intersection of different domains.

What do you hope to gain in completing this project?
Through this project, I hope to gain exposure to new tools and technologies, deepen my understanding of domains such as climate and history, and ultimately create something meaningful and of real value.
