The Programme funds researchers and individuals who are passionate about improving research software use and/or development in their areas of work. We empower Fellows to talk to a wider audience about the role of software in their research domain, and to develop communities around the skills they learn. They can network with others who share their interests and learn new skills that benefit both themselves and their collaborators.
Each Fellow is allocated £3,000 to spend over fifteen months. The funding is flexible to support activities that are beneficial to both the Fellows’ and the Institute's aims, for example to fund travel to conferences, to setup and run workshops, to nurture and contribute to communities of practice, and other activities.
