CryoEM, Genomics, and other Life Sciences workloads on Bede

Ruzhu Chen and Terry Leatherland from IBM will discuss Cryogenic Electron Microscopy and other Life Sciences and Genomics workloads, including RELiON, and how to get the best performance running these on the Bede cluster.

This will include an overview of running Life Sciences workloads on IBM Power Systems hardware, including the GPU accelerated AC922 nodes that make up Bede, with a focus on getting the best performance from the infrastructure. Ruzhu will also explain how to access the optimised packages that he has built on the cluster - including:

  • Relion v3.1
  • CTFfind4 v4.1.13
  • Eman2 v2.39
  • MotionCor2 v2
  • CroYolo v1.6.1
  • ResMAP v1.1.4
