N8 CIR Machine Learning - Newcastle

Machine Learning (often referred to as AI) has been gaining significant interest in recent years and there is much going on at Newcastle. This event is to draw together those working in ML at Newcastle and to see how the N8’s new initiative in ML can help.

Online Event
8 Feb 2022 2 p.m. — 3:30 p.m.

Overview

There is a lot of Machine Learning going on here in Newcastle, but most of it is happening in isolation. From Electrical Engineers developing the next generation of AI hardware through to CDT PhD candidates analysing the behaviour of animals. This event is to try and bring together researchers in Machine Learning at Newcastle to build up a community and to see how the newly formed N8 CIR (Computationally Intensive Research) in Machine Learning can help reduce the bottlenecks and challenges to enable better ML research.

This virtual event will take place on Tuesday 8 February 2022, 2-3:30pm. If you are unable to attend, but interested, please drop Stephen McGough an email.

Registration

This event is only open to those working or studying at Newcastle University. Please register using your academic (.ac.uk) e-mail address to help confirm your eligibility.

Similar events will be organised at each of the N8 Universities.
