Why did you apply for this internship?
I applied for this internship to gain hands-on experience in research software engineering and collaborative work. I have an interest in modelling and high-performance computing, both of which I will have the opportunity to explore during this internship.

What do you hope to gain in completing this project?
In completing this project, I hope to gain experience in developing robust, scalable software, deepen my understanding of scientific modelling, and explore the use of high-performance computing on computationally intensive tasks.

Why did you apply for this internship?
I am keen to develop my skills in data analysis and coding in R as this is an area I have really enjoyed and want to ensure I learn best practice in, as this is a skill that would be very valuable for my career.

What do you hope to gain in completing this project?
As well as developing my skills in R, I hope to gain a wider understanding of the role of research software engineering and how this could become a part of my career. I am also really looking forward to getting a deeper insight to the research project and being able to make a useful contribution.

Why did you apply for this internship?
I wanted to get experience doing real research software engineering, and the opportunity to learn from experienced researchers. I would like more experience in research as I find it interesting and would be interested in pursuing research in the future. I am also interested in this project specifically as I like the interdisciplinary nature of it, as its applications could be useful in other fields outside of computer science.

What do you hope to gain in completing this project?
I hope to gain a better understanding of how academic research in this field is really conducted, to improve my programming and research skills.
